ROZSYPNE VR

A 13-minute war epos, set in the Eastern-Ukrainian war zone of 2014

In the summer of 2014, the village of Rozsypne in the eastern Ukrainian countryside found itself in the midst of a raging civil war, the lives of its inhabitants unsettled by the destruction and chaos at their doorstep. But the suffering of Rozsypne only made international news after Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 was shot down, killing all 298 passengers and raining debris, bodily remains and other traces of human life over the fields and homes of the village—whose name translates as “scattered.”

While international coverage of the crash mostly centered on Western European lives, this poetic roomscale VR experience offers a fragmented window into the life of Nina, an elderly woman living in Rozsypne. Moving through the distinctive Ukrainian sunflower fields, we witness the details of Nina’s austere but cozy home and experience the feeling of this faraway reality up close. A vivid and brightly colored exploration of mourning, endurance, and common human feeling.

Augmented Face

With AR filters, Camera Effects and Lenses,
It’s possible to create stunning experiences that are fun, immersive, interactive and highly engaging!

Facebook has created a platform and tools for developers and designers to create instagram-style camera effects. It’s called Spark AR. For my first exploration I wanted to create sharable make-up filters.

In my exploration video you can see some of the filter I made and the people that used them.

Modern Carrier Pigeon

With the coming of modern technological advances like emails and texting, carrier pigeons have long been out of work.

Play as a pigeon starting their new job as a transcriber and use your beak to type out messages left on your desk. Be quick, though – you’re paid by the number of messages you send per minute!

I Am Not Home Video

This Project was done in collaboration with artist Bert Hana and was commissioned by IDFA / VR BASE. Bert has a fascination for old footage and was looking for a way to visualise audio tapes and hi8 images he collected in VR. Together with several partners I was part of interactive VR installation that is a visual reconstruction of the world Bert knew from his past.

Enter a virtual flashback to the end of an era and the beginning of a new one. Like an archeologist, Hana points out the arrival of the brand-new Euro banknotes, the prosecution of Slobodan Miloševic and the collapse of the Twin Towers. The filmed house then unfolds around you in three dimensions, in the typical VHS colors. Go ahead and look or even walk around.

RedVanMan

You are on your way home after a party. But you start noticing a strange man on the road. Can you escape him? Get hime safe!

Just before the 2019 Global Game Jam I came across this home trainer. I thought the home trainer could be the perfect game controller. To read the Bike speed I attached a Arduino to read the wheel RPM.

Ssssstt!

VR game where you must scream at evil librarians that try to silence you.

For the 2017 Global Game Jam we had to implement the following theme: Waves.
We immediately thought about audio waves, so instead of just using a traditional controller the player has to scream in real life to “shoot” the evil librarians

Bigsby

Bigsby is a new cleaning robot joining your staff. He’s not that good at it yet though.

Every time he encounters something new his system bugs out. Can you help reprogram him so he can clean your clients house?

How to play:

  • Wait for Ziggy to find something he’s never seen before and get a bug (indicated with his red warning lights) and tap him with the mouse.
  • Choose a function for Ziggy to do with this object.
  • Observe and wait for the next item.
